Group therapy is a wonderfully effective modality that has a distinct advantage in addressing many concerns in the interpersonal realm. Group membership provides a unique opportunity to get a clearer understanding of how we relate to others, and to work in a supportive environment with others respectfully sharing that intent for themselves and their fellow group members. To this end, my current mixed-gender groups are focused on the development of intimacy and authenticity in relationship, self-esteem, and issues related to work identity and family. Other past areas of interest include women’s issues, trauma and substance abuse, all of which continue to inform my work.
I am in private practice in Boston on Beacon Hill, and have over twenty-five years of experience in leading groups and working with couples and individuals. I was formally affiliated with Harvard Medical School where my group work included research on group therapy in the treatment of cocaine addiction. My interest in young adult development began while working in two college counseling centers. Locally, I was on staff in the counseling center of Emerson College, where besides clinical work, I was also involved in supervision and training.
My current professional affiliations include full membership in the American Group Psychotherapy Association and the Northeastern Society for Group Psychotherapy. I am also a member of the Psychoanalytic Couples and Family Institute of New England (PC-FINE) where I received advanced training in couples therapy. I serve on committees in two of the above organizations.
Parking: Street parking is metered, and there are several parking garages/lots nearby to include Whole Foods where parking is free (with validation) for the first hour.
Location: My office is near the corner of Bowdoin and Cambridge Streets on Beacon Hill. It is convenient to the Green, Blue and Red and Orange Lines.
